Perimenopause begins at 38

As a woman approaches menopause, or the cessation of her menstrual cycle, the menstrual cycle often becomes shorter and more irregular. A woman is considered menopausal after one year has passed without a period. The time leading up to menopause is called pre-menopause.

Cycles during this time may be ovulatory or anovulatory. Early ovulation may be more likely to occur. Mucus patterns may become more variable. Some women may experience spotting, or unusual bleeding may be observed more frequently.

Charting with the Creighton Model during the pre-menopausal stage of life gives couples of this age great security. Daily observations and charting of biomarkers give clear insight into the phases of fertility and infertility. Working closely with the Creighton Model™ Practitoner provides support, knowledge and encouragement which will help a couple maintain their family planning intentions.

A couple's Practitioner can also point them to a NaProTECHNOLOGY Medical Consultant who can provide a targeted hormone profile, evaluate thyroid function, address adrenal fatigue and offer cooperative progesterone support of necessary.  For more information, see this presentation by Dr. Jean Golden-Tevald, D.O., CFCMC, FCP, "Change of Life? How NaProTECHNOLOGY Can Ease the Transition to Menopause."
